St.Wolfgang:
A town made famous through the Flügelaltar (winged alter
piece)from Michael Pachner and the pilgrims and the songs from "The
White Horse Inn" (Weiße Rössel).
There is a possibility to drive up the Schafberg with the railway or to take a boat trip to St. Gilgen.
Bad Ischl:
In the centre of
Salzkammergut is one of the most famous Health Resorts in Austria.
Kaiser Franz Joseph built
his summer residence in this village and
here
he met the Bavarian princess Sisi, who he then fell in love with.
Not only crowned leaders stayed here, but also composers like Franz Lehar, Johannes Brahms and Oskar Strauss. Visiting the Kaiser villa as well as the legendary Zauner Coffee house is a must when in Bad Ischl.
